To SsangYong LIV-2, αποτελεί την εξέλιξη του πρωτότυπου LIV-1, που είχε παρουσιαστεί το 2013, στην Έκθεση Αυτοκινήτου της Σεούλ. Το όνομά του προέρχεται από τις λέξεις Limitless Interface Vehicle, που σε ελεύθερη μετάφραση σημαίνουν ένα όχημα με απεριόριστες δυνατότητες, έτσι όπως προκύπτουν από τις νέες τεχνολογίες που διαθέτει. Από αυτό αναμένεται να προέλθει ο αντικαταστάτης του Rexton.

Το SsangYong LIV-2 εξοπλίζεται με έναν κινητήρα ντίζελ 2,2 λίτρων (181PS, 420 Nm) προδιαγραφών Euro 6, που εξασφαλίζει δύναμη και οικονομία, όπως και με κινητήρα βενζίνης 2.0 DGi (225PS, 350Nm) με τούρμπο και άμεσο ψεκασμό καυσίμου.

Το εσωτερικό του είναι σχεδιασμένο να δημιουργεί την αίσθηση ενός σύγχρονου πολυτελούς καθιστικού, ενώ είναι εξοπλισμένο με πολλές σύγχρονες τεχνολογίες επικοινωνίας. Αυτές περιλαμβάνουν ένα ενοποιημένο σύστημα επικοινωνίας με τρεις οθόνες, αντικατοπτρισμό των ηλεκτρονικών συσκευών (mirroring) μέσω wi-fi, αλλά και τεχνολογίες συνδεσιμότητας μέσω των applications Apple CarPlay και Google Android Auto. Συνολικά, το σύστημα infotainment μπορεί να ρυθμιστεί από ένα πάνελ αφής και προσφέρει ήχο surround υψηλής ποιότητας.

Το νέο μοντέλο της SsangYong εξοπλίζεται με εξελιγμένα συστήματα ασφαλείας, όπως είναι το Σύστημα Αυτόνομου Φρεναρίσματος (AEBS), το οποίο προειδοποιεί τον οδηγό όταν ένα εμπόδιο (αυτοκίνητο ή πεζός) εντοπίζεται εμπρός, με τη χρήση ραντάρ και λέιζερ, αλλά και από μία κάμερα τοποθετημένη στο πάνω μέρος του παρμπρίζ, και ακολούθως φρενάρει το αυτοκίνητο αν χρειαστεί. Επίσης εξοπλίζεται με τα Συστήματα Υποβοήθησης Ασφάλειας Κυκλοφορίας (TSA) και Αυτόματης Απ-Ενεργοποίησης Προβολέων (HBA), το Σύστημα Προειδοποίησης Αλλαγής Λωρίδας (LDW), το Σύστημα Διάγνωσης Τυφλού Σημείου, το Σύστημα Υποβοήθησης Παραμονής στη Λωρίδα (LKA) και το Σύστημα Προειδοποίησης Κυκλοφορίας, που βοηθάει τον οδηγό να αποφύγει την πρόσκρουση στο πίσω μέρος του οχήματος, κατά το ξεπαρκάρισμα με την όπισθεν.

H Kia στο περίπτερό της στο Παρίσι παρουσιάζει τη νέα γενιά του Rio. Το supermini έχει μεγαλώσει σε διαστάσεις, μιας και είναι κατά 15 χλστ. μακρύτερο, 5 χλστ. πιο φαρδύ και 5 χλστ. πιο κοντό, με τις συνολικές του διαστάσεις να είναι: μήκος 4.065 χλστ., πλάτος 1.725 χλστ. και ύψος 1.450 χλστ. Αυξημένο κατά 10 χλστ. είναι και το μεταξόνιο του, καθώς πλέον φτάνει τα 2.580 χλστ., με τον χώρο αποσκευών να αγγίζει τα 325 λίτρα, που αυξάνεται ακόμη περισσότερο με την αναδίπλωση των πίσω καθισμάτων.

Η αναβάθμιση τόσο οπτικά όσο και ποιοτικά του νέου supermini μοντέλου της Kia είναι κάτι παραπάνω από εμφανής, με τον σχεδιασμό του να είναι υπεύθυνες οι ομάδες τόσο στο κέντρο της Γερμανίας, όσο και της Καλιφόρνιας, ενώ επιρροές υπήρχαν και από το παγκόσμιο σχεδιαστικό κέντρο της εταιρία στη πόλη Namyang, της Νοτίου Κορέας. Το νέο Rio φαίνεται σημαντικά πιο εκλεπτυσμένο από τον προκάτοχό του, τόσο μέσα όσο και έξω. Χρησιμοποιεί την πιο πρόσφατη υιοθέτηση της εταιρικής μάσκας, η οποία είναι ευρύτερη και πιο λεπτή. Τα φωτιστικά σώματα είναι μια εξέλιξη αυτών του προηγούμενου μοντέλου, αλλά πλέον είναι πιο λεπτά και φιλοξενούν LED φώτα ημέρας σχήματος U. Προχωρώντας προς τα πίσω, η Kia έχει δώσει στο νέο B-segment μοντέλο της πιο ανάγλυφα φώτα, που ενσωματώνουν νέα LED γραφικά, ενώ ο σχεδιασμός του είναι πιο όρθιος από ότι προηγούμενα, και αυτό είναι εν μέρει λόγω του σχεδόν κάθετου πίσω γυαλιού, με τους προβόλους να έχουν μειωθεί για τον ίδιο σκοπό.

Στο εσωτερικό διακρίνουμε ένα τριάκτινο πολυλειτουργικό δερμάτινο τιμόνι, μεγάλη οθόνη στο κέντρο του ταμπλό, σύστημα ενημέρωσης και ψυχαγωγίας με υποστήριξη Apple CarPlay και Android Auto, σύστημα πλοήγησης,θύρα USB, κεντρικό υποβραχιόνιο, διακόπτες αεροπορικού τύπου όπως και κυκλικούς και τραπέζιους αεραγωγούς. Έχουν χρησιμοποιηθεί ανώτερης ποιότητας υλικά, ενώ χάρη στο νέο σύστημα ενημέρωσης και ψυχαγωγίας έχει εξαλειφθεί ορισμένα από τα κουμπιά. Το ταμπλό είναι περισσότερο στραμένο στον οδηγό, με το νέο δερμάτινο τιμόνι να διαθέτει πολλά κουμπιά.

Θα προσφέρεται σε 8 εξωτερικά χρώματα, τρεις διαφορετικές ζάντες διαστάσεων 15″, 16″, και 17″΄, με το εσωτερικό να μπορεί να ντυθεί με μαύρο ή γκρι ύφασμα και μαύρο/γκρι ή μαύρο/κόκκινο τεχνητό δέρμα.

Στην αγορά θα είναι διαθέσιμο κατά το πρώτο τρίμηνο του 2017 και κίνηση παίρνει από κινητήρες βενζίνης και πετρελαίου. Συγκεκριμένα υπάρχει ο τρικύλινδρος 1.000αρης T-GDI απόδοσης 98 και 118 ίππων με 172 Nm ροπής, με τον 1,25-λίτρων MPI και 1,4-λίτρων MPI απόδοσης 82 και 90 ίππων αντιστοίχως, όπως και με τον 1.400αρη πετρελαιοκινητήρα απόδοσης 69 και 88 ίππων.

Η ανάρτηση του έχει βελτιωθεί, προσφέροντας καλύτερο χειρισμό ενώ από πλευράς ασφαλείας, στοχεύει να αποσπάσει πέντε αστέρια στις δοκιμές του Euro NCAP μιας και διαθέτει σύστημα αυτόνομης φρεναρίσματος, σύστημα ειδοποίησης αλλαγής λωρίδας κυκλοφορίας και 6 αερόσακους στον βασικό εξοπλισμό. PARIS MOTOR SHOW WORLD DEBUT FOR ALL-NEW KIA RIO

The new Kia Rio will make its world debut on 29 September in Paris, at the 2016 Mondial de l’Automobile. The Rio is the Korean manufacturer’s global best-selling model, with more than 473,000 sold around the world in 2015, accounting for 16 per cent of Kia’s annual sales. The UK contributed to this with 12,115 Rios sold in 2015, which was 15 per cent of the UK’s total sales.

Now entering its fourth generation, the new Rio will offer B-segment buyers a compelling package, with an attractive new design, high practicality and convenience, class-first safety technology, new connectivity features and more engaging ride and handling.

Michael Cole, Chief Operating Officer for Kia Motors Europe, commented: “The Rio is an important car for Kia, as our best-selling model worldwide. The B-segment is one of the most hotly-contested areas of the new car market, and the third-generation Rio helped introduce more people to the Kia brand than ever before.

“As a gateway to the brand, the Rio has typically offered an attractive design, low running costs and practicality. It’s for these reasons that the current model has sold in record numbers around the world. The new model will build on these key strengths, with higher desirability, a more enjoyable drive and the most advanced safety features in its class.”

Designed and engineered to meet the needs and desires of a wider range of buyers, the new Rio will play an increasingly important role in the Kia model line-up. The B-segment is the largest market segment in the European new car market, and Kia anticipates that the new Rio will attract over 100,000 buyers in its first full year on-sale. This will place the Rio alongside Kia’s best-selling models in Europe, the Sportage and cee’d.

The new Rio will be manufactured at Kia’s Sohari manufacturing facility in Korea, and will go on sale globally during the first quarter of 2017.

Exterior design: Defined by straight lines and smooth surfaces

The Rio’s progressive new exterior and interior design was led by Kia’s design centres in Germany and California, in close collaboration with the company’s domestic design base in Namyang, Korea. The appearance of the new Rio is defined by straight lines and smooth surfacing, giving the car a distinctive new look and more mature character than its predecessor.

At the front, the Rio wears the latest evolution of Kia’s ‘tiger-nose’ grille, now thinner in height and wider across the front of the car, with a gloss black grille cover. The grille is integrated with the newly-designed bi-function headlights, more sculpted for a sharper look, and featuring a new U-shaped LED daytime running light signature. The Rio’s front fog light surrounds are moved outwards and upwards in the front bumper compared to their position on the third-generation model, adding greater visual width to the front of the car for a stronger overall look. The longer bonnet features bracket-shaped creases that run down from the base of the A-pillars to the grille and headlights.

In profile, the fourth-generation Rio’s lengthened, more balanced stance is achieved with a long bonnet and longer front overhang, a 10 mm longer wheelbase (up to 2,580 mm), a thinner, more upright C-pillar, and a shorter rear overhang. Overall, the new car is 15 mm longer than its predecessor, at 4,065 mm in length, and 5 mm lower (now 1,450 mm tall). Straight, clearly-defined lines run down the full length of the car’s shoulder and along its doors, further stretching the appearance of the car for a more confident look.

The rear section of the Rio is now more upright, with a near-vertical rear windscreen and a shorter overhang. The straight line that runs from the grille, through the headlights and along the top of the doors, continues around the back of the car, paired with thinner, more sculpted rear lamps, which now feature a new arrow-shaped LED light signature. Like the wider-looking ‘face’ of the car, the rear design of the new Rio gives the car a stronger overall appearance.

When the new Rio goes on sale across Europe, it will be available in a choice of eight exterior colours and a choice of three aluminium alloy wheel designs, ranging from 15-inch to 17-inch in diameter. The Rio will be sold as a five door model in Europe.

Interior design: Modern cabin with new floating HMI

The new Kia Rio features a modern new cabin, with more sculptural forms and a more ergonomic layout than its predecessor. The interior has also been designed to accommodate the Rio’s new range of technologies.

Like the exterior, straight lines running the width of the dashboard characterise the shape of the interior, giving the cabin a wider appearance and increasing the sense of space for occupants. As well as long, lateral lines that govern the shape of the dashboard, horizontal vents further add to the visual width of the cabin, replacing the vertical vents of the third-generation model. Gloss black trim lines the central section of the dashboard.

The dashboard itself is now angled towards the driver, a layout which provides the car with a sportier, more driver-focused design and a more premium character. At the centre of the dashboard is a ‘floating’ HMI (human-machine interface), available with a high-resolution touchscreen. Below, the driver-oriented centre console features fewer buttons, with more ergonomic, concave switches and rotator dials below to control the heating and ventilation.

The new Rio is available with a choice of black or grey cloth seat upholstery, or with black or grey artificial leather. A ‘Red Pack’ for the Rio gives buyers black with red artificial leather-trimmed seats throughout the cabin.

New technologies further boost the appeal of the Rio’s cabin. Designed to improve comfort and convenience for owners, the new model is available with keyless entry and ignition, heated seats and steering wheel, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, and automatic headlamps. The new model is also available with Automatic Cruise Control, with a speed limiter, and Rear Park Assist with a rear view camera (see ‘Safety’ for more information on the Rio’s new safety systems).

Practicality: Greater cabin and boot space, with improved all-round visibility

The Rio will have the most spacious cabin and one of the highest boot capacities (325 litres) of any car in its class when it goes on sale, with practicality a key focus for the Rio’s development and engineering teams.

The Rio’s 10 mm-longer wheelbase and 15mm-longer body contribute to larger cabin and boot dimensions. Leg room grows to 1,120 mm in the front and 770 mm in the rear, while the new model offers more shoulder room than most other cars in its class – 1,375 mm in the front and 1,355 in the rear. Despite the new Rio being 5 mm shorter in height than the outgoing model, front and rear headroom (1,021 mm and 966 mm respectively) are among the best in the B-segment.

These improvements to space in the cabin have been achieved with a series of changes to the Rio’s packaging. These include re-profiled door trims, the adoption of new headlining materials, and changes to the shape of the dashboard, as well as more significant changes to the bodyshell of the Rio – such as the longer wheelbase.

Furthermore, thinner C-pillars – reduced in width by 87 mm – and relocated door mirrors (moved up to the base of the A-pillar) help minimise the size of the driver’s blind spots and improve all-round visibility. A lower window line around the cabin and new quarterlights at the tail end of the rear doors also give the driver and passengers a better view out.

The Rio’s cabin offers more storage space than before. At the base of the centre console is an open double tray to store mobile devices and other small items, and the overhead console includes an area to store sunglasses. The glove compartment is also a single-box shape. The new Rio has bottle holders in every door (to accommodate 1.5-litre bottles in the front and 0.5-litre bottles in the rear of the car) and two larger cupholders in the front. The doors also feature closed-bottom storage holes in the door handles, useful for small items such as a phone or coins. An optional armrest is available, adding further storage capacity to the cabin.

Luggage capacity has also increased by 37 litres to 325 litres (VDA; +13 per cent), among the best in class. This extra space has been achieved in spite of the Rio’s rear overhang being shortened by 15 mm to 655 mm, a key element of the car’s new design. The new Rio features a split-level boot floor, which enables owners to change the height of the boot floor to fit items under the floor to prevent objects rolling around, or to keep them out of sight. The Rio is fitted as standard with split-folding rear seats and a tyre mobility kit under the boot floor. Buyers can specify an optional spare wheel.

The fuel tank, which is located under the rear bench, is 45 litres in size, two litres larger than the earlier model.

Powertrains: Efficient new T-GDI engines with low emissions and instant responses

The new Kia Rio will be powered by a range of petrol and diesel engines when it goes on sale in 2017, each offering high efficiency and willing acceleration.

An increasing customer appetite for downsized, turbocharged engines has led to the adoption of Kia’s latest three-cylinder 1.0-litre T-GDI (turbo gasoline direct injection) engines. The lightweight and compact new engine was introduced for the first time in the upgraded Kia cee’d in 2015 and is expected to account for the majority of Rio sales when the new model goes on sale. As well as offering high efficiency and low emissions, the lightweight nature of the new T-GDI engines benefit the Rio’s keen front-end handling, with less mass and inertia for the car to work against under cornering.

Customers ordering their Rio with the 1.0-litre T-GDI engine can choose between 98 or 118 bhp power outputs. The 98 bhp engine produces peak power at 4,500 rpm and 172 Nm torque from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm .The higher-powered 118 bhp engine produces the same torque output across the same band of engine speeds, while power is accessible at a higher 6,000 rpm peak. Now in the latter stages of testing and development, both engines are expected to deliver sub-100 g/km CO2 emissions (NEDC, combined). The Rio’s Idle Stop & Go (ISG) system will see emissions reduced even further, pending homologation.

Alongside the 1.0-litre T-GDI, the Kia Rio is offered with naturally-aspirated 1.25-litre and 1.4-litre MPI (multi-point injection) petrol engines. The 82 bhp 1.25-litre engine produces its peak power at 6,000 rpm and 122 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm; the 1.4-litre produces 90 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 132 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm. Pending final homologation tests, both engines are expected to deliver CO2 emissions of under 120 g/km.

For even lower emissions, the new Rio will also be sold with a 1.4-litre diesel engine, producing either 69 or 88 bhp. Regardless of power output, the 1.4-litre diesel engine will be capable of producing the lowest CO2 emissions levels in the Rio line-up – Kia engineers are targeting CO2 emissions under 90 g/km with ISG.

All engines apply power to the front wheels, either through a five-speed manual transmission for 1.25-litre and 98 bhp 1.0-litre T-GDI gasoline engines; or a six-speed manual transmission for the 1.4-litre gasoline engine, the higher-output 118 ps 1.0-litre T-GDI engine, and both 1.4-litre diesel engines.

Safety: ADAS assistive technologies and a five-star Euro NCAP target

The new Rio will be one of the safest cars in its class when it goes on sale, available with a package of Kia’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The new Rio is built on high-strength steel body and features a wide array of passive safety equipment – the car is engineered to meet the most demanding crash safety test criteria around the world.

Targeting a five-star Euro NCAP crash safety rating when fitted with optional ADAS technology, the Rio will be the first car in the B-segment to feature Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with pedestrian recognition. The Rio’s AEB system uses a long-range radar detection system to detect potential collisions with other vehicles or pedestrians and helps bring the car to a halt*. AEB is paired with a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), which alerts the driver if they stray out of their lane on the road without the use of indicators.

The bodyshell of the new Rio is made up of a significant proportion of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS). The extensive use of AHSS in the body of the Rio is part of a wider effort by Kia to achieve a 5 per cent reduction in the average weight of new car bodies by 2020 when compared to 2014, while enabling greater safety and security. 51 per cent of the new Rio’s body is made out of strong, light AHSS, compared to 33 per cent in the third-generation model.

The higher application of AHSS has strengthened the passenger cabin ‘cell’ for greater occupant safety and more effective distribution of impact forces. The stronger steel has been used to reinforce the A- and B-pillars, as well as side sills, roof structure, engine bay and floor pan.

The new Rio is fitted with six airbags throughout the cabin, as well as ISOFIX child-seat tether and anchor points for front and rear passenger seats.

Driving: More engaging and stable handling with a comfortable ride

As well as being incredibly safe to drive, the new Rio seeks to build on the level of driver engagement offered by the third-generation model. Kia’s chassis development teams have sought to introduce greater driving appeal, with more agile and immediate handling, while improving ride comfort. The Rio sits on fully-independent MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear axle.

The development of a stiffer bodyshell gave R&D teams the freedom to develop a more compliant suspension system. The new Rio benefits from a revised spring and damper set-up than the outgoing model, improving the car’s compliance and comfort at all speeds, while facilitating the car’s more enjoyable, engaging handling characteristics.

Compared to the third-generation model, the modifications to the Rio’s chassis include: more rigid front suspension struts and cross member and a raised rear torsion beam for high-speed stability; the adoption of new vertical rear shock absorbers and front shock absorbers with pre-loaded linear valve technology, both resulting in more linear handling and suspension response over broken road surfaces; and a repositioned power steering gearbox, to enable greater ‘on-centre’ feel through the steering wheel. The changes to the chassis are designed to endow the Rio with more immediate handling responses and improve the level of confidence that the driver has behind the wheel.

On top of the new package of ADAS technologies, the new Rio is fitted as standard with Kia’s Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) with Electronic Stability Control (ESC). VSM ensures stability under braking and cornering, detecting a loss in traction and using ESC to help the driver keep the car on course.

Connectivity: full Android and Apple smartphone integration

At the centre of the dashboard is the new infotainment system, housing Kia’s latest HMI (human-machine interface). The new Rio is available with a ‘floating’ 5.0-inch touchscreen audio system with six speakers. Buyers can also specify a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment and navigation system, with Kia Connected Services powered by TomTom®, as well asAndroid Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ for full smartphone integration.

The Kia Connected Services connectivity package offers drivers a wide range of up-to-date information, including live traffic updates**, speed camera locations and alerts**, local point-of-interest search and weather forecasts. Available in cars equipped with navigation Kia’s Connected Services will be available free of charge for European buyers for seven years after the car’s purchase.

The Rio’s Android Auto™ system is designed to work with Android phones running 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher. Available from launch, Android Auto™ connects to the user’s phone and lets them access smartphone apps and functions through the in-car infotainment system, such as voice-guided Google Maps navigation, hands-free calls and texts and voice recognition. Android Auto™ also lets users stream music from Google Play Music™ and other services.

Apple CarPlay™, for iPhone 5 or newer, will enable full Siri voice control to control the phone’s various functions and apps, including navigation via Apple Maps, calls and text dictation. Apple CarPlay™ also supports other audio apps that the user may have downloaded to their iPhone – such as music streaming or audiobook services.

The Kia Rio will be the first car in the B-segment to be equipped with USB ports in both the front and rear of the cabin, enabling users to physically connect a mobile device to the Rio’s infotainment system, and recharge batteries on the move.

On sale: New Rio arrives in Europe in early 2017

The all-new Kia Rio will go on sale across Europe in the first quarter of 2017, with the company’s unique 7-Year, 100,000 mile warranty as standard.

Παρίσι 2016: Νέο Kia Rio

Η αναμονή άξιζε. Το νέο Nissan Micra είναι γεγονός με σάρκα και οστά. Το πρώτο πράγμα που προσέχεις επάνω του είναι η μάσκα και τα μεγάλα φώτα εμπρός, καθώς και το έντονο νεύρο που ξεκινά από το καπό, διατρέχει το αμάξωμα και καταλήγει στο πίσω ξεχωριστό τμήμα.

Πέρα από αυτά, δεν λείπουν οι λεπτομέρειες που κάνουν τη διαφορά, τα πόμολα των χειρολαβών στις πίσω πόρτες είναι κρυμμένα ψηλά, ενώ να τονίσουμε πως διαφορετικό χρώμα από το υπόλοιπο αμάξωμα υιοθετούν οι μεσαίες και οι πίσω κολώνες.

Πίσω από την εμπνευσμένη αισθητική, υπάρχει και η ουσία, με την αεροδυναμική, να πέφτει στο ευεργετικό (κορυφαίο για την κατηγορία) Cd 0,29, με ότι θετικό αυτό συνεπάγεται στην κατανάλωση και στον θόρυβο.

Περνώντας στο εσωτερικό η εικόνα είναι νέα και πολύ πιο πειστική πλέον, εναρμονισμένη στα πρότυπα της εποχής. Εδώ δεσπόζει η έγχρωμη οθόνη αφής, 7,0 ιντσών για το σύστημα πολυμέσων, ενώ διαθέτει κουμπί εκκίνησης κινητήρα, αναλογικό πίνακα οργάνων με μεγάλη ψηφιακή οθόνη κεντρικά τοποθετημένη όπως επίσης και πολυλειτουργικό τιμόνι.

Η ποιότητα των υλικών είναι αρκετά αναβαθμισμένη ενώ θα είναι διαθέσιμοι συνολικά 125 χρωματικοί συνδυασμοί. Στα χωροταξικά τώρα, το αυξημένο σε διαστάσεις μεταξόνιο αλλά και το μεγαλύτερο πλάτος, συνηγορούν στην ευρυχωρία για τους επιβάτες στην καμπίνα του νέου Micra.

Όπως είχαμε αποκαλύψει εδώ και καιρό στο NewsAuto, το νέο Micra θα είναι διαθέσιμο με τον τούρμπο κινητήρα βενζίνης 0,9 λίτρου του ομίλου που αποδίδει 90 ίππους, το γνωστό 1.5 diesel των 90 ίππων, ενώ αργότερα θα προστεθεί και ο 1.0 ατμοσφαιρικός βενζίνης με ισχύ 75 ίππους.

Να προσθέσουμε τέλος πως η παραγωγή του νέου Micra θα λάβει χώρα στο εργοστάσιο της Renault στο Φλιν της Γαλλίας, ενώ οι πωλήσεις του αναμένεται να ξεκινήσουν στην Ευρωπαϊκή αγορά το πρώτο τρίμηνο του νέου έτους.

Ντεμπούτο στην έκθεση του Παρισιού κάνει για την Fiat η ειδική έκδοση του 500 που εξελίχθηκε από κοινού με την εταιρία κατασκευής πολυτελών yacht, Riva.

Το 500 Riva Tender to Paris είναι βαμμένο σε Sera Blue χρώμα και η παραγωγή του θα περιοριστεί σε 50 μόλις κομμάτια – αποκλειστικά Cabriolet. Εκτός από το χρώμα, το “ομορφότερο 500” όπως αναφέρει χαρακτηριστικά η Fiat, ξεχωρίζει χάρη στους χρωμιωμένους καθρέπτες, τις επίσης χρωμιωμένες χειρολαβές και ορισμένα διακοσμητικά. Το πακέτο, συμπληρώνουν οι 16άρες ζάντες ελαφρού κράματος με το μπλε φινίρισμα καθώς και τα σήματα της Riva στο πορτ-μπαγκάζ, τα φτερά και σε άλλα σημεία του αμαξώματος.

Αυτό που κλέβει την παράσταση όμως στην έκδοση Riva Tender to Paris, είναι το εσωτερικό και πιο συγκεκριμένα το ταμπλό. Εκεί, βλέπουμε χειροποίητο μαόνι και σφένδαμο που φυσικά, θυμίζει τα πολυτελή σκάφη και δημιουργεί μία ατμόσφαιρα πολυτέλειας. Επίσης, ενδιαφέρον έχει και η κατασκευή του ταμπλό. Σύμφωνα με την εταιρία, το ξύλο έχει εφαρμόσει πάνω σε ένα ανθρακονημάτινο “κέλυφος” που εξασφαλίζει σταθερότητα αλλά και ευελιξία. Το ξύλο συμπληρώνουν άψογα τα δερμάτινα καθίσματα στο χρώμα του ελεφαντόδοντου.

Η ειδική αυτή έκδοση, είναι διαθέσιμη είτε με τον 1200άρη Fire των 69 ίππων, είτε με τον TwinAir των 900 κ.εκ. με 85 ή 105 άλογα.

500 Riva parades in the French capital with the “Tender to Paris” limited edition

On the stand at Europe’s most glamorous motor show, Fiat is launching the 500 Riva “Tender to Paris” special series displayed next to the Aquariva Super, both in exclusive “Sera Blue”, the traditional colour of the Sarnico shipyard

 

Fiat is shining in Paris with a symbol of outstanding Italian beauty, fruit of the meeting between two undisputed icons of the motoring and nautical worlds: 500 Riva will be displayed on the stand alongside an Aquariva Super, the open power yacht that symbolises Riva creativity and which was the source of inspiration for the car.
To celebrate the partnership between 500 and Riva, FCA France has decided to create a specific version, complete with all the main optional equipment offered on 500 Riva. This limited edition – that will count just 50 cars only for the French market – will be convertible only. It will fit BeatsAudioTM, navigator with DAB, electrochromic rear-view mirror, windstop, steering wheel with mahogany insert as standard material and will sport an exclusive “Tender to Paris” numbered and customised badge.

 

500 Riva “Tender to Paris” preserves the style elements that characterise 500 Riva making it the most beautiful 500 ever. The body paintwork is “Sera Blue”, one of the most traditional and appreciated colours in the palette of Aquariva Super boats, and is set off by an exclusive blue top make specifically for 500 Riva. Other unique details embellish the livery: the mirror caps are chrome-plated, as are the handles and the bonnet trim which emphasises its streamline design, in perfect harmony with the style of the boats built by the legendary shipyard in Sarnico. Furthermore, a double aquamarine stripe enhances the round profile of the 500: running along the belt line, it recalls the charming decorative detail of the power yacht. Lastly, the exclusive one-of-a-kind 16″ 20-spoke light alloy rims are characterised by a specific blue finish and designed especially for this version. The Riva 500 special series is also the only one to sport the logo of the nautical legend on the boot, wheel arch, the side panel insert and the dashboard.

 

The dashboard is the real gem of the 500 Riva. Made of hand-painted mahogany with maple inlay work, it offers the occupants the luxurious warmth of life on-board, as emphasised by the Riva logo. An innovative engineering process was implemented to make it: the wood is applied on an ultralight carbon shell to ensure stability, flexibility and perfect strength over time. The maple inlays are arranged by hand, making each creation truly unique. In this way, wood – the most natural of materials – meets state-of-the-art technology for a result of absolute excellence, just like on Riva yachts: the perfect combination of state-of-the-art technology and expert craftsmanship. In addition to the dashboard, other mahogany details include the door sills and the gear knob, the latter machined from solid wood. Furthermore, from this month on, 500 Riva will also be embellished by an even more exclusive detail: the steering wheel with an elegant wood inlay. And exclusivity is also the name of the game for the seats, with ivory Poltrona Frau® quilted effect leather upholstery and contrasting ivory stitching. The piping is Sera blue, like the profiles of the seat belts, which are also ivory. Every detail aboard the car – from the colours to the materials – makes reference to the unmistakeable style of the Aquariva Super. The attention to detail is meticulous with a coherently elegant colour palette. The mats have special ivory edging and contrasting “Sera Blue” stitching, like the boot mat also features a wood insert with Riva lettering.

 

The car has plenty of safety and comfort features, with seven airbags, ABS with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), ASR (Anti Slip Regulation) Hill Holder, which assists the driver during hill starts, and HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assistance) that helps with emergency braking. Naturally, the standard equipment also includes automatic A/C, fog lights, LED daytime running lights and a personalised TFT screen with aquamarine background and Riva logo. The “Tender to Paris” limited edition may be equipped with the brilliant 1.2 Fire 69 HP engine or the TwinAir 0.9 cm3 two-cylinder, of which two versions are available: 85 HP with Dualogic transmission and 105 HP.

Χωρίς να επηρεάζεται – προς το παρόν τουλάχιστον – από το Brexit, η βιομηχανία παραγωγής αυτοκινήτων γνωρίζει μεγάλη άνθηση. Οι εξαγωγές αυτοκινήτων από το Μ. Βρετανία προς την Ευρώπη και τον υπόλοιπο κόσμο έφθασαν σε επίπεδα ρεκόρ το 2015. 10 δισεκατομμύρια λίρες επενδύθηκαν στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο τα προηγούμενα πέντε χρόνια, για τον εκσυγχρονισμό των γραμμών παραγωγής.

Την παραμονή της έκθεσης αυτοκινήτου στο Παρίσι, 8 δημοφιλή αυτοκίνητα που κατασκευάζονται στη Μ. Βρετανία μαζεύτηκαν κάτω από τον Πύργο του Άιφελ. Η εκδήλωση έγινε με πρωτοβουλία της Ένωσης Κατασκευαστών Αυτοκινήτων με έδρα τη Βρετανία.

Τα τελευταία χρόνια, η αυτοκινητοβιομηχανία του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου έχει υποστεί πρωτοφανή ανάπτυξη – χάρη στις επικρατούσες ανταγωνιστικές συνθήκες, συναλλαγές άνευ δασμών και σημαντικές επενδύσεις σε νέα μοντέλα και εγκαταστάσεις.

Το 57,3% των αυτοκινήτων που έχουν παραχθεί φέτος στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο έχουν εξαχθεί στην Ε.Ε., ενώ ακολουθούν οι ΗΠΑ με 12,1% και η Κίνα με 7,1%. Ενώ οι ΗΠΑ βρίσκονται στην κορυφή του καταλόγου των χωρών που εισάγουν “Made in UK” αυτοκίνητα, τα κράτη-μέλη της Ε.Ε. κατέλαβαν έξι από τις 10 πρώτες θέσεις: η Γερμανία, το Βέλγιο, η Ιταλία, η Γαλλία, η Πορτογαλία και η Ισπανία.

Τα “βρετανικά” αυτοκίνητα κατακτούν το Παρίσι

Η Hyundai στην έκθεση του Παρισιού μαζί με το εντυπωσιακό RN30 Concept με τα 380 άλογα, παρουσίασε και τη νέα γενιά του i30, το οποίο θα γίνει μια οικογένεια οχημάτων, με την γρήγορη N έκδοση να κυκλοφορεί στην αγορά στις αρχές του 2017. Η νοτιοκορεατική εταιρία ισχυρίζεται πως το i30 επαναπροσδιορίζεται στη κατηγορία των συμπαγών hatchback έχοντας ελκυστικό σχεδιασμό, και άριστη οδηγική συμπεριφορά.

Το νέο i30 διαθέτει νέα εμφάνιση, με την Hyundai να έχει βάλει ως στόχο να κάνει τα αυτοκίνητά της πιο κομψά και θελκτικά στα μάτια του ευρωπαϊκού κοινού, με τον Peter Schreyer πρόεδρο και επικεφαλής σχεδιασμού της Hyundai, να δηλώνει πως επιδίωξή του είναι να κάνει τα Hyundai όμορφα αυτοκίνητα. Η νέα γενιά του i30 φέρει την εξάγωνη “Cascading” μάσκα της εταιρίας, κάθετα LED φώτα ημέρας, με τον συνολικό σχεδιασμό του να δείχνει πιο εκλεπτυσμένος σε σχέση με την τωρινή γενιά. Η νέα μάσκα θα τοποθετηθεί σε όλα τα μοντέλα της Hyundai, από το i10 μέχρι το Santa Fe.

Το αυτοκίνητο έχει αναπτυχθεί στην Ευρώπη και είναι κατασκευασμένο πάνω σε μια εντελώς αναθεωρημένη έκδοση της υπάρχουσας πλατφόρμας. Χρησιμοποιεί γόνατα MacPherson μπροστά και πολλαπλών συνδέσμων ανάρτηση πίσω, στον βασικό εξοπλισμό, με τα αμορτισέρ να έχουν σπορ προσανατολισμένες ρυθμίσεις. Σύμφωνα με την Hyundai, το i30 έχει γίνει πιο ευέλικτο και ανταποκρίνεται καλύτερα στον χειρισμό, έχοντας ταυτόχρονα δυναμικά χαρακτηριστικά. Το τιμόνι έχει γίνει αμεσότερο, ενώ ανταποκρίνεται 10% καλύτερα, με τα φρένα να έχουν βελτιωθεί και αυτά. Όλα τα παραπάνω βελτιώνουν την οδηγική άνεση, κάνοντας το i30 πιο δυναμικό, πιο ευέλικτο και πιο διασκεδαστικό στην οδήγηση.

Το σώμα είναι κατασκευασμένο από 53% χάλυβα υψηλής αντοχής, το διπλάσιο από το ποσοστό που χρησιμοποιούσε η προηγούμενη γενιά, κάνοντας το να ζυγίζει 28 κιλά λιγότερο από τη προηγούμενη γενιά, με την ακαμψία να αυξάνεται κατά 22%.

Η κορεατική φίρμα υπόσχεται περισσότερους χώρους στους επιβάτες όπως και περισσότερο διαθέσιμο χώρο στο πορτμπαγκάζ. Το μήκος του νέου i30 είναι 4.340 χιλιοστά, το πλάτος φτάνει τα 1.795 χιλιοστά, το ύψος τα 1.455 χιλιοστά και το μεταξόνιο τα 2.650 χιλιοστά. Οι διαστάσεις μεγάλωσαν κατά 40 χιλιοστά στο μήκος, κατά 15 χιλιοστά στο πλάτος, με το ύψος να μειώνεται κατά 15 χιλιοστά, με το μεταξόνιο να παραμένει το ίδιο, με το βάρος του να ξεκινά από τα 1.316 κιλά, ελαφρώς αυξημένο -κατά 10 κιλά- από την προηγούμενη γενιά. Παρά το ελαφρύτερο σώμα, το νέο i30 διαθέτει περισσότερο εξοπλισμό, κάτι που έχει ως αποτέλεσμα να αυξηθεί το βάρος.

Μηχανικά, η Hyundai προσφέρει αρχικά το i30 με τρεις κινητήρες βενζίνης και έναν πετρελαίου. Ανάμεσα τους βρίσκεται ο 1.400αρης turbo T-GDI των 140 ίππων με 242 Nm ροπής, o 1.400άρης MPI ατμοσφαιρικός 100 ίππων με 134 Nm ροπής και ο τρικύλινδρος 1.000αρης T-GDi turbo των 120 ίππων με 170 Nm ροπής. Επίσης υπάρχει ο 1.600άρης diesel απόδοσης 95, 110 και 136 ίππων με 280, 280 και 300 Nm ροπής αντίστοιχα. Οι εκπομπές CO2 ξεκινούν από τα 89 γρ/χλμ, οι κινητήρες συνδυάζονται είτε με εξάρι μηχανικό κιβώτιο, είτε με ένα 7-τάχυτο αυτόματο διπλού συμπλέκτη (στους δύο ισχυρότερους diesel και στον 1.4 Turbo βενζίνης). Το i30 με τον 1.4 Turbo κάνει τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα σε 8,9 δευτερόλεπτα, με την τελική του ταχύτητα να αγγίζει τα 210 χλμ/ώρα.

Το 2017 θα προστεθεί στη γκάμα και η γρήγορη N έκδοση -ίσως ονομαστεί RN30- με τον 2,0-λιτρο turbo βενζινοκινητήρα απόδοσης 260+ ίππων. Η κίνηση θα περνά στον μπροστά άξονα, θα μπορεί να πιάσει τελική ταχύτητα 250 χλμ/ώρα και αρχικά ο κινητήρας θα προσφέρεται με μηχανικό κιβώτιο, με το αυτόματο να προστίθεται κάποια στιγμή το 2018, με το αφεντικό του σπορ τμήματος της Hyundai να μην αποκλείει το ενδεχόμενο να υπάρξει και μια τετρακίνητη έκδοση του i30 N, που θα κοντράρει το Focus RS.

Στο εσωτερικό η Hyundai έχει τοποθετήσει στο i30 λιγότερους φυσικούς διακόπτες, μεγάλη “πλωτή” οθόνη αφής 8″ η οποία βρίσκεται στον πρόσθετο εξοπλισμό, μιας και η βασική έκδοση έχει οθόνη 5″. Το σύστημα ενημέρωσης και ψυχαγωγίας είναι συμβατό με Apple CarPlay και Android Auto, υπάρχει ασύρματος επαγωγικός φορτιστής smartphone, σύστημα πλοήγησης της TomTom, με την εικόνα του εσωτερικού να δείχνει ποιοτική, μιας και συναντάμε τριάκτινο δερμάτινο τιμόνι, αλουμινένια πεντάλς, αλουμινένια και μαύρα γυαλιστερά διακοσμητικά, δερμάτινες επενδύσεις και προαιρετική πανοραμική ηλιοροφή. Ο χώρος των αποσκευών ανέρχεται στα 395 λίτρα, που μετά την αναδίπλωση των πίσω καθισμάτων φτάνει τα 1.301 λίτρα.

Η Hyundai έχει τοποθετήσει αρκετά χαρακτηριστικά ασφαλείας στο i30, όπως αυτόνομο σύστημα φρεναρίσματος, σύστημα προειδοποίησης μετωπικής σύγκρουσης, ενεργό cruise control, σύστημα ειδοποίησης τυφλής γωνίας, σύστημα ειδοποίησης διασταυρώσεων, αυτόματη μεγάλα σκάλα, σύστημα διατήρησης λωρίδας κυκλοφορίας, σύστημα που καταλαβαίνει πότε ο οδηγός είναι κουρασμένος, όπως και ένα σύστημα που σαρώνει τον χώρο πίσω από το αυτοκίνητο όταν κάνει κάποιος όπισθεν.

The European Success Story: Hyundai Motor’s DNA Car for Europe

Hyundai Motor is still a young brand in Europe. About 25 years ago, in the 1990s the company entered the European market with affordable and practical cars that customers mainly bought for their price. Those days are over. Adapting to customer demands quickly, leading to fast sales growth, Hyundai Motor now aims to become the number one Asian car brand in Europe.

This strategy began when Hyundai Motor built up its European operations in order to fully adapt its business to the European market by opening production facilities in Turkey in 1997 and the Czech Republic in 2008. These two factories alone have a total production capacity of more than 500,000 cars per year. They fulfil the highest quality standards to meet European customers’ expectations, enabling Hyundai Motor to deliver an industry-leading peace of mind package: a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty.

Further evidence of Hyundai Motor’s commitment to the European market and the company’s focus on European customers in terms of style, technology and driving performance is the European R&D and Design Centre. It began in 1995 with two people tuning cars and giving feedback on the preferences of European customers to the global headquarters in Korea. In 2003, a new centre for design and engineering was opened in Rüsselsheim which strengthened operations and now employs more than 300 employees.

Ten years later, in 2013, Hyundai Motor took the next step in opening the largest testing centre on the Nürburgring to fully assess the quality, durability and performance of Hyundai vehicles. Accelerated and outstanding durability testing with the new 1.4 T-GDI alone over a distance of 10,000 km at 95% of limit on the Nürburgring corresponded to 150,000 kilometres on public roads in regular usage. Since its opening, Hyundai Motor has tested 40 cars over 20,000 laps on the Nordschleife, resulting in 416,000 kilometres and equalling 6.25 million kilometres of customer usage.

The stronger focus on European preferences has paid off. Design is the number one buying reason for the second-generation i30 (about 400,000 cars sold in Europe up to now) and is consistently the top reason why European customers choose to buy Hyundai.
Today, Hyundai Motor sells cars in 31 European countries through 2,500 outlets. 90% of the vehicles Hyundai Motor sells in Europe are models designed, engineered, tested and manufactured in Europe to meet the needs of European customers.

Coherent and Timeless Design

The New Generation i30 further evolves Hyundai’s design language with natural flowing lines, refined surfaces and a sculpted body to create a timeless and confident appearance. Hyundai Motor is introducing a new design element: the Cascading Grille, which will become the new family identity for Hyundai models in the future. The New Generation i30 features a balanced and coherent design emphasised through the horizontal character line on the exterior combined with the horizontal layout in the interior.

Exterior Design

The front of the new Generation i30 is confident and expressive, creating a recognisable presence on the road. The new Cascading Grille has a powerful downward tapering gesture inspired by the momentous flow of poured molten steel. The grille features chrome-plated dots for a sophisticated appearance enhancing the satin chrome surrounding of the standard version. In combination with the three-projector full LED (low and high beam) headlamps and the LED vertical daytime running lights with indicator function, the New Generation i30 has a strong visual presence. To further enhance this projector-type front, fog lamps are integrated into the air curtains.

With its harmonious proportions, short front and rear overhangs, a long bonnet with a moved back A pillar, the car has a dynamic and compact stance on the road. The New Generation i30 features a sophisticated sleek character line that flows very naturally from the headlamp along the almost horizontal belt line to connect with LED rear lamps and further wraps around the rear for a timeless and dynamic appearance. The slightly sloping roofline and the black rear spoiler make the New Generation i30 look even more dynamic and compact. The sleek design is also reflected in the aerodynamics of the New Generation i30 with a Coefficient of Drag of only 0.30. Aerodynamics are enhanced through several measures including an Active Air Flap in front to optimise cooling and and improve aerodynamics.

Its strong rear end design with a sculpted and 3-dimensional appearance featuring a signature light graphic incorporating the high-positioned reflectors and fog lamps sets the car apart on the road. The New Generation Hyundai i30 is available with 17-inch two tone 10-spoke alloy wheels, 16-inch two-tone 10-spoke alloy wheels or 15-inch steel and alloy wheels.

It will be available in twelve exterior colours consisting of three pearl choices: Stargazing Blue, Micron Gray, Phantom Black; and seven metallic choices: Demitasse Brown, Intense Copper, Moon Rock, Fiery Red, Platinum Sliver, Ara Blue and White Sand plus two solid choices: Engine Red and Polar White. Interior Design

The interior is clear and intuitive with a horizontal layout that conveys an impression of elegance and a feeling of roominess. The floating screen of the optional eight-inch navigation touch screen on the dashboard integrates all navigation, media and connectivity features and allows drivers to stay always tuned to the traffic ahead thanks to its ergonomic position. The new multifunction three-spoke steering wheel allows easy and intuitive operation of all functions through an ergonomically positioned operation controls and can be heated for enhanced comfort. The climate and temperature control is positioned conveniently in the centre console and can be easily operated through the dials without distracting the driver.

The New Generation i30 offers plenty of space for passengers and luggage alike and does not compromise on interior roominess for its sporty exterior design. The i30 makes driving comfortable for all passengers with segment-leading roominess. The feeling of space is enhanced by the optional panoramic glass sunroof which allows to tilt or to slide open. While driving the armrest can slides forward for the most comfortable position and may also be opened to access additional storage possibilities underneath. To enable customers to carry everything they need, the New Generation i30 offers generous luggage capacity of up to 395 litres (VDA 211) with a practical two-stage luggage board and a ski hatch in the rear centre seat.

For the interior, customers can choose from three colour options: Oceanids black with two different cloth seat options or black leather seats, a two tone combination of Slate Grey and Oceanids black with cloth or leather seats featuring diamond pattern or the two tone combination of elegant Indigo Blue and Oceanids Black with leather seats.

The driver’s seat comes with a memory seat function with two programmable seat positions.

 

02. Driving Performance

Choice of Powertrains

The New Generation i30 is powered by a range of small-displacement turbo charged petrol and diesel engines delivering a dynamic and efficient driving experience. There are three petrol engines and one diesel engine. Customers can choose between the new 1.4 T-GDI turbocharged four cylinder engine – a Hyundai first – with 140 PS, the 1.0 T-GDI turbocharged three cylinder engine with 120 PS or the 1.4 MPI four cylinder with 100 PS and one diesel engine: the 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine, available with three power outputs: 95, 110 and 133 PS. CO2 emissions starting from as low as 89g CO2/km (target values). Mated to the engines is either the six-speed manual transmission (6MT) or Hyundai’s efficient and direct-responding seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT).

New 1.4 T-GDI – Light, Frugal and Fun to Drive

The 1,353 cc four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is significantly lighter than its predecessor, the Gamma 1.4-litre engine. The unit’s base weight has been reduced by 14 kg and it also boasts greater efficiency and power, delivering 140 PS and 242 Nm of torque.

The new engine incorporates a high-pressure single-scroll turbocharger integrated in the exhaust manifold to improve operational efficiency. The relocated and re-engineered turbo means throttle response time and low-end torque have improved. The new design injects fuel directly inside the cylinder, improving combustion rates for better power and fuel efficiency.

The new, turbocharged 1.4-litre T-GDI petrol engine is offered with the 6MT or the 7DCT, which gives a choice of fully automatic operation or manual gear changes.

The 1.0 T-GDI – Three-Cylinder Dynamism

The 1.0 T-GDI engine, developed by the Namyang Technical Centre in Korea in collaboration with the European Technical Centre in Germany, with 120 PS and 170 Nm provides a perfect combination of dynamism and efficiency.

A turbocharger with an electronically-controlled waste-gate actuator improves fuel efficiency by lowering pumping losses as well as improving throttle response and low-end torque. The unit features a six-hole GDI injector, pressured to a higher-than-average 200 bar, securing a clean combustion and improving fuel economy and emissions.

To keep the engine unit as small as possible, the exhaust manifold is integrated in the cylinder head and can therefore be cooled efficiently using the cylinder head water-cooling system. These efforts result in faster warm-up of the catalyst and ultimately in improved real-world fuel consumption and emissions.

The 1.0 T-GDI is offered with the 6MT.

1.6-litre Turbo Diesel: One Engine, Three Outputs

For customers looking for a diesel engine, the New Generation Hyundai i30 is offered with a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder turbo engine with three outputs: the ‘standard power’ version with 95 PS, the ‘mid power’ version with 110 PS and the ‘high power’ version with 133 PS, delivering a maximum torque of 275 Nm. Both the mid power and high power version can be selected with the 6MT or 7DCT.

The Seven-Speed Dual-Clutch Transmission

Hyundai Motor introduced its first seven-speed double-clutch transmission in 2015, combining the benefits of automated and manual transmissions. The 7DCT provides an improvement in fuel consumption and CO2emissions of up to 20% compared to a conventional six-gear automated transmission, while acceleration performance could be increased by up to 10%.

The 7DCT consists of two dry clutches and an actuator for each clutch. Engine power is transferred independently into the odd and even gear train to always be ready to shift into the next gear without any torque interruption. For optimised responsiveness the electric motor-driven actuator is applied, while external dampers improve the noise, vibration and harshness during driving

Ride and Handling

The New Generation i30 has been developed and tested in Europe performing accelerated durability tests and dynamic testing on the most demanding race track in the world, the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife, as well as undergoing rigorous public-road testing throughout Europe from the coldest winter testing conditions in Sweden to trailer testing in the Alps and hot weather testing in the south of Spain to ensure that the high expectations of European customers are met.

The development engineers have defined the characteristics of the New Generation i30; precise, natural and connected steering; agile, responsive and predictable handling; a dynamic ride without compromising comfort with good body control. Compared to its predecessor the steering is 10% more direct and the vehicle response is 15 milliseconds faster.

The new chassis of the New Generation i30 has been completely reworked to provide a dynamic and compliant driving experience with high levels of ride comfort. Contributing to this is the standard multi-link rear suspension for all versions with a dual lower arm and the performance-oriented shock absorbers.

Braking performance is optimised by an increased brake diameter size to 288 mm in the front allowing the driver to apply a stronger braking force especially in hot wheel conditions.

Strong and Lightweight Body: 53% Advanced High-Strength Steel

Hyundai Motor is the only car manufacturer to make its own steel for the production of its vehicles globally with great benefits for the New Generation i30 featuring a strong and light body that enhances the dynamic performance and increases passenger safety.

The quantity of Advanced High Strength Steel has almost doubled to 53% while at the same time reducing the weight of the body-in-white by 28 kg and increasing rigidity by 22% in comparison to its predecessor. In production, the structural adhesives length has been increased to 112 m, improving stiffness while reducing weight.

 

03. Connected and Caring

Smart connectivity features that most customers require make the New Generation i30 a smart, rewarding choice. Customers can choose between the standard premium audio system with a five-inch capacitive LCD touch screen with integrated dynamic rear-view camera, Bluetooth connectivity and My Music functionality or the optional new generation navigation system with an eight-inch capacitive touch screen. For drivers who want to connect their smartphones with the eight-inch navigation system the New Generation i30 provides both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both systems enable users to connect their devices to deliver and control music, telephone or navigation functions on-screen. Seamless connectivity allows drivers and passengers to stay connected while remaining focused on the road. To ensure that occupants’ phones are always charged, the New Generation i30 also offers a wireless inductive charging pad (Qi standard) for mobile phones and a USB port located in the closed centre console.

The new navigation system comes with a seven-year free subscription to TomTom LIVE services. TomTom LIVE offers updated information in real time: weather, traffic, speed cameras and online searches for points of interest. The navigation system features 3D maps and is capable to display photos if you connect an USB stick.

Highest Active Safety

The New Generation i30 features the latest active safety features to comply with the highest European safety standards: Autonomous Emergency Braking with Front Collision Warning System, Smart Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keeping Assist System, Speed Limit Information Function and High Beam Assist. New to the Hyundai line-up is the Driver Attention Alert giving the New Generation i30 all available active safety features available for Hyundai Motor vehicles and making it the car with the most advanced safety package.

Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)

The i30 is also fitted with AEB including Front Collision Warning System (FCWS), an advanced active safety feature that alerts drivers to emergency situations, braking autonomously if required. Using front radar and camera sensors, AEB operates in three stages. Initially warning the driver visually and acoustically, it controls the brake according to the collision danger stage, and applies maximum braking force right before the moment of collision. When a vehicle or pedestrian is sensed in front of the car, the system is activated, operating at speeds of 10 km/h or above and minimises damage when a collision is unavoidable.

Driver Attention Alert (DAA)

First in a Hyundai Motor vehicle is the Driver Attention Alert, a driver protection feature which helps monitor driving patterns in order to detect reckless or fatigued driving and prevent potential accidents. The system analyses various vehicle signals such as steering angle, steering torque, vehicle’s position in the lane and driving time. In addition, the driver can adjust a user-selectable setting for the system’s sensitivity. If the system detects inattentive driving patterns an audible sound and message on the instrument display panel will alert the driver.

Smart Cruise Control (SCC)

Using front radar sensors, SCC allows a constant speed and distance to be maintained from the vehicle ahead without depressing the accelerator or brake pedals; it is automatically cancelled when speed drops to 10 km/h or below.

Blind Spot Detector (BSD)

Also using radar technology, the Blind Spot Detector (BSD) with Lane Change Assist monitors the rear corners and, if another vehicle is detected, a visual alert appears on the exterior mirrors. If the driver then activates the indicators an audible signal is emitted. This also applies for a lane change situation when another vehicle is detected.

Rear-Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

Using the BSD sensors the RCTA system reduces the risk of collision with approaching traffic when reversing out of narrow areas with low visibility. Using a radar to scan a 180-degree area behind the vehicle for approaching cross-traffic, RCTA alerts the driver visually and acoustically

Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

The LKAS alerts the driver in unsafe movements at over 60 km/h by sensing the car’s position. The LDWS sounds an alarm before the car moves over white, grey and blue lines as well as Bott’s dots on the road, while the LKAS warns the driver acoustically and visually before inducing corrective steering to guide the driver back to a safe position.

Speed Limit Information Function (SLIF)

The SLIF uses the front camera and information from the navigation system to identify road speed signs and display the speed limit in real time. The information is displayed both in the navigation system display as well as in the TFT cluster.

High Beam Assist (HBA)

When switched to automatic mode, HBA detects both oncoming vehicles and vehicles in the same lane ahead at night and changes to low-beam as appropriate, reducing blinding effects on other drivers. Whenever there are no vehicles detected, the system automatically re-activates the high beams, maximising the driver’s range of vision.

Highest Passive Safety

Featuring 53% Advanced High Strength Steel, the New Generation 30 benefits from increased rigidity by 22% and a high impact energy absorption and minimised distortion to protect passengers in the event of a collision.

Thanks to an improved hot stamping method, the side outer reinforcement of the New Generation i30 is manufactured as one single component. Previously, there were five combined components. The completely new technology reduces weight by 4.1 kg and increases rigidity and impact energy absorption.

Around the interior of the New Generation i30, a total of seven airbags are installed, including a knee airbag for the driver. Beside the six standard airbags (2 front airbags, two side airbags to curtain airbags from first to second row protecting both driver and passengers), the knee airbag is an additional safety feature for the driver in the event of a front collision.

Συγκεκριμένα, η Mercedes-Benz E-Class έρχεται με το εξελιγμένο σύστημα ασφάλειας AEB, μάλιστα αυτό αποτελεί στάνταρ εξοπλισμό σε όλες τις διαθέσιμες εκδόσεις. Έτσι, μετά από τις αυστηρές δοκιμές ασφάλειας παίρνει το μέγιστο βαθμό διάκρισης, τα πέντε αστέρια αξιολόγησης του Euro NCAP.

Από την άλλη, το crossover της Peugeot, το 3008, παίρνει επίσης βαθμολογία πέντε αστέρων. Αυτό το μικρό όχημα ελεύθερου χρόνου της Γαλλικής εταιρίας, διαθέτει σύστημα υποβοήθησης πορείας αλλά και προειδοποίηση παρέκκλισης από την λωρίδα κυκλοφορίας στο βασικό εξοπλισμό, παράλληλα το σύστημα AEB είναι διαθέσιμο προαιρετικά.

Όπως περιμέναμε, ντεμπούτο για την Audi στην έκθεση του Παρισιού κάνουν τα A5 και S5 Sportback που παρουσιάστηκαν στις αρχές του μήνα. Κατασκευάζεται πάνω στην MLB Evo πλατφόρμα και έχει μήκος 4.73 μέτρα, πλάτος 1.84 και ύψος 1.39 μέτρα. Το μεταξόνιο είναι μεγαλύτερο σε σύγκριση με το απερχόμενο μοντέλο, φτάνοντας τα 2.824 μέτρα ενώ το βάρος του μειώθηκε τουλάχιστον κατά 85 κιλά, ζυγίζοντας πλέον 1.470.

To εσωτερικό του είναι παρόμοιο με αυτό του A4, προσφέροντας 17 mm περισσότερο χώρο στους ώμους των μπροστά επιβατών και 11 mm για τους πίσω, με τον διαθέσιμο χώρο για τα πόδια των πίσω επιβατών να έχει αυξηθεί κατά 24 mm. Και στα A5 Sportback και S5 Sportback η Audi τοποθετεί τον ψηφιακό πίνακα οργάνων Virtual Cockpit με την οθόνη των 12,3″, με το σύστημα ενημέρωσης και ψυχαγωγίας MMI να έχει οθόνη αφής 8,3″, όπως και περιστροφικούς διακόπτες ελέγχου.

Αρχικά δύο TFSI και τρεις TDI κινητήρες θα είναι διαθέσιμοι, απόδοσης μεταξύ 190 και 286 ίππων. Το S5 Sportback φορά τον V6 3,0-λίτρων TFSI κινητήρα απόδοσης 354 ίππων, 21 περισσότερα από την προηγούμενη γενιά. Τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα τα κάνει σε 4,7 δευτερόλεπτα, με την τελική ταχύτητα να περιορίζεται ηλεκτρονικά στα 250 χλμ/ώρα. Υπάρχουν τρία διαθέσιμα κιβώτια, ένα εξάρι μηχανικό, ένα επτατάχυτο S tronic διπλού συμπλέκτη, και ένα Tiptronic οκτώ ταχυτήτων, ενώ διαθέσιμο είναι και το A5 Sportback g-tron με τον 2.0 TFSI κινητήρα των 170 ίππων που μπορεί να καταναλώσει είτε βενζίνη, είτε φυσικό αέριο, είτε το Audi e-gas. Εκπέμπει 100 γρ/χλμ CO2 και επιταχύνει από στάση στα 100 χλμ/ώρα σε 8,5 δευτερόλεπτα. Ο 2.0 TFSI αποδίδει 252 άλογα και επιτρέπει στο αυτοκίνητο να κάνει τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα σε 6 δευτερόλεπτα, με τον 2.0 TDI να παράγει 190 άλογα, με τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα να έρχονται σε 7,4 δευτερόλεπτα. Ο 3.0 TDI αποδίδει 218 άλογα με 400 Nm ροπής. Το σύστημα τετρακίνησης δε, είναι διαθέσιμο ως πρόσθετος εξοπλισμός.

Οι πωλήσεις των νέων Audi A5 Sportback και S5 Sportback θα ξεκινήσουν στην Γερμανία και στην Ευρώπη από τις αρχές του 2017, με το Audi A5 Sportback να ξεκινά από τις 37.800 ευρώ και το S5 Sportback από τα 62.500 ευρώ.

Παρίσι 2016: Audi S5 & A5 Sportback

Από τη στιγμή που η Opel λανσάρει το Ampera-e με δυνατότητα κίνησης επί 500 km με μία φόρτιση, δεν θα μπορούσε η Renault να μείνει άπραγη. Έτσι οι Γάλλοι παρουσιάζουν στο Παρίσι την ανανεωμένη έκδοση του ΖΟΕ, με σημαντικότερη αλλαγή τις μεγαλύτερες μπαταρίες. Με χωρητικότητα 41 kWh (έναντι 22 kWh του σημερινού μοντέλου) χαρίζουν θεωρητική αυτονομία 400 km και υπό ρεαλιστικές συνθήκες 300 km, με μία φόρτιση.

ΤΟΥ ΚΩΣΤΑ ΜΠΙΤΣΙΚΩΚΟΥ

Οι μπαταρίες ιόντων λιθίου προέρχονται από την LG και δεν χρειάζονται έξτρα χρόνο για τη φόρτισή τους, συγκριτικά με τις μικρότερες. Π.χ., με φόρτιση επί μισή ώρα εξασφαλίζεται αυτονομία 80 km. Αναβάθμιση έχει δεχτεί και το ηλεκτρικό μοτέρ, ισχύος 90 ίππων.

Προκειμένου να καταστήσει πιο προσιτή την απόκτηση και χρήση ενός ηλεκτρικού αυτοκινήτου, η Renault λανσάρει το πρόγραμμα «Flex ZE 40» με δυνατότητα ενοικίασης του πακέτου μπαταριών αυξημένης χωρητικότητας. Παράλληλα το ΖΟΕ ανανεώνεται οπτικά με νέες ζάντες αλουμινίου 16 ιντσών, μαύρες επενδύσεις στα καθίσματα, μπλε λεπτομέρειες στο ταμπλό, την κεντρική κονσόλα και το εσωτερικό των θυρών. Στη Γαλλία θα κυκλοφορήσει και η premium έκδοση Edition One.

Η Lexus στην έκθεση του Παρισιού παρουσιάζει την ευρωπαϊκή έκδοση του ανανεωμένου IS. Το αυτοκίνητο διαθέτει νέας σχεδίασης προφυλακτήρα με μεγάλες εισαγωγές αέρα, επανασχεδιασμένα φωτιστικά σώματα μπροστά και πίσω, νέα γρίλια, νέας σχεδίασης ζάντες διαστάσεων 16″, 17″, 18″ και νέα χρώματα (Deep Blue Mica, Graphite Black Glass Flak).

Στο εσωτερικό συναντάμε νέα μεγαλύτερη οθόνη πολυμέσων 10,25″, νέα γραφικά στον πίνακα οργάνων, νέες ποτηροθήκες και ελαφρώς διαφορετική κεντρική κονσόλα. Μηχανικά θα προσφέρεται με τους ίδιους κινητήρες στις εκδόσεις IS 200t, IS 300, και IS 350, με το F Sport πακέτο να είναι διαθέσιμο σε όλες.
